I guess this is beside the point Hauke was trying to make. The problem 
is not if people use new or old computers, but that they use proprietary 
operating systems and that it is quite scary/hard for them to change 
that behaviour. Equipping old hardware with a modern Linux seems to be a 
good approach to ramp up to the bigger step of changing to Free Software 
completely.
